CEW- ERP Module
Central Workshop
Ideation & Problem
CEW (Central Workshop) was a great desktop system project for Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) in Iran. The main goal of this system is to organize and manage the repairs orders after receiving the maintenance orders through the CMMS system. CEW was designed to automate the whole process of repairing pieces of equipment parts and machines.
I really enjoy doing this project along with an awesome team at IRISA Company. Every single day of working on this project, I learned something new.
User Research & Solution
We did the user research of this project through the following methods;
1) Reviewing all the paper forms and procedures for maintenance in Mobarakeh Steel Company.
2) Interviewing with repair and workshop managers and 15 labors working in CEW.
Here are the activities that we accomplished in this phase;
-
Investigate users and their behavior/activities
-
Work closely with CEW stakeholders and product management teams to identify research topics
-
Work with design, product management, content strategy, engineering, and marketing
-
Participate in repair activities for user research
-
Plan and implement the overall user research strategy and methods
-
Create the product vision & project scope
-
Create domain model and use cases
Design & Wireframing
As mentioned above, we reviewed MSC current system and the paper procedures in order to design the new system. Above photos illustrate the existing system (gray) and the designed system (blue). We used the Design Studio tool in order to prototype the new system.
Evaluation & Testing
After deployment of the system in Mobarakeh Steel Company , we tested the system by end users. In the test process the following features were examined and fixed.
1) All process and flow
2) Procedures (interactions) for doing a specific task
3) All UI elements
4) Exceptions (errors ) + content
5) Navigations
6) Simplicity of the process
7) Data integrity (after data migration)
